January 30, 2009

January 29, 2009 - GE Healthcare’s Mac-Lab IT hemodynamic recording and data management solution has received 2008 Category Leader designation in the “Top 20 Best in KLAS Awards: Software and Professional Services” report, published in December.

The software and professional services report ranked the solution best in cardiology hemodynamics, holding a near 5 percent lead over the second ranked provider. GE’s 2008 scores in this category reflect a seven percent improvement over its 2007 report scores. Notably, the report indicates that 91 percent of respondents would buy the GE Healthcare solution again.

The report, which reflected nearly 18,000 evaluations given by healthcare professionals, defines “category leaders” as vendors that have excelled in their respective market segments. This recognition signifies leadership in working with customers to resolve issues and match expectations to reality. The “cardiology hemodynamics” category includes equipment that measures and monitors blood flow, pressure and circulation of heart catheterization and other cardiovascular studies.

Mac-Lab IT combines the Mac-Lab Hemodynamic Recording System with GE’s Centricity Cardiology Data Management System to provide clinicians with a comprehensive set of cardiac cath lab solutions. Putting IT capabilities right into the cath lab, Mac-Lab IT delivers exceptional speed and efficiency in clinical workflow and administrative reporting.
