Mobile Tool Allows Remote Access to Images

February 18, 2011 – A zero-footprint mobile application that enables remote access to imaging tools from hand-held mobile devices, as well as Macintosh- or Windows-based PCs is on display at the Health Information Management Systems Society (HIMSS) 2011 Annual Conference and Exhibition. FujiFilm’s Synapse Mobility can display high-quality, 3-D medical images on any platform from which it’s accessed.

Radiologists and referring physicians can now have on-the-go access to the images and information stored in the company’s PACS, RIS and Synapse Cardiovascular using the Web browser of their choice. This increases accessibility to patient information and improves workflow. The medical staff at Columbus-based Ohio Health recently conducted a clinical evaluation of the system, noting the numerous efficiency and patient care benefits the new application will offer the busy departments within its multiple hospitals and clinics.

It provides advanced viewing capabilities for physicians to view 3-D images as well as to be able to zoom, window and level, and they can use MIP/MPR just as they would do at a clinical workstation.
