March 7, 2013 — MobileDemand and VectraCor Inc. have partnered to provide a turnkey solution to the healthcare industry for patients presenting with chest pain to detect real-time ECG changes suggestive of a heart attack. VectraCor has chosen the xTablet C1200 rugged convertible to use as their mobile, rugged version of the VectraplexECG System.

The high-performance xTablet C1200 is designed for the always-mobile professional who needs superior connectivity, reliability and access to business applications anytime, anywhere including hospital emergency departments and emergency medical services/ambulances. This durable laptop meets MIL-STD 810G requirements and is tested to survive drops from 4 feet. A special spill-resistant design protects the keyboard, touchpad, speakers, wireless and power switches and all ports are dust resistant.

When the American College of Cardiology (ACC) meets on Saturday, March 9th in San Francisco, VectraCor will be displaying (Booth N5518) the VectraplexECG System with VectraplexAMI. This is the only 'stand-alone' cardiac monitor/ECG machine with a Cardiac Electrical Biomarker (CEB) for the real-time detection of ECG changes that may be indicative of a heart attack (acute myocardial infarction/AMI) plus the capability to derive a 15-lead ECG (12-lead plus XYZ leads and vector loops) for the U.S. market and 22-lead ECG (12-lead plus right heart, posterior, XYZ leads and vector loops) for the European Market using only five electrodes.

“In the healthcare industry, fractions of seconds can mean the difference between life and death,” said Bob Zink, vice president of sales and marketing at MobileDemand. “The VectraplexECG System has been proven to detect ECG changes suggestive of a heart attack. Utilizing this, healthcare professionals are able to provide potentially faster treatment to the patient in order to prevent further health complications.”

The potential to save more lives with this system is unparalleled as the immediate results allow for potentially faster treatment, which may protect the heart muscle from further damage, thus potentially improving a patient's quality of life after a heart attack.

“The C1200 from MobileDemand is an ideal rugged and compact system that utilizes VectraCor’s proprietary technology to derive 15-leads of data and continuously monitor chest pain patients for ECG changes suggestive of an AMI,” says Brad Schreck, president and CEO of VectraCor.
