Webinar: Precision Matters — Optimizing PCI Through Robotics

Part of the Diagnostic and Interventional Cardiology Webinar Series — supported by an educational grant from Philips Healthcare

September 4, 2013
John Jeffrey Marshall, M.D., FACC, FSCAI

This webinar focuses on how robotic-assistance can serve to optimize percutaneous coronary interventions (PCI). This talk explains the value of robotic-assistance in the cath lab, which includes the potential to reduce stent utilization, minimize longitudinal geographic miss and reduce radiation to the physician.

This is an archived webinar, so CME not available for on-demand session. It was originally broadcast on Sept. 9, 2013.

Statement of Purpose/Need:
New technology such as robotic-assistance can serve to optimize PCI. This talk will explain the value of robotic-assistance in the cath lab, which includes the potential to reduce stent utilization, minimize longitudinal geographic miss and reduce radiation to the physician.

Upon completion of this activity, participants will be able to:

  1. Summarize the challenges that limit optimized results in PCI
  2. Describe how robotics have the potential to improve patient outcomes
  3. Explain how robotics can reduce stent utilization through precise device control
  4. Define how robotics can increase physician safety in the cath lab
  5. Employ robotics to enhance procedural accuracy in coronary artery catheter based interventions
