Digital Blood Pressure Device is EHR/EMR-Compatible

January 4, 2011

The Connex ProBP 3400, from Welch Allyn, is an automated, digital blood pressure device that fits in the palm of the hand and provides a portable option for capturing reliable blood pressure readings in virtually any hospital or primary care environment.

It can also communicate patient data to many popular EHR/EMR software programs. The device uses SureBP measures on inflation.

With traditional manual devices, improper technique can lead to wide variations in blood pressure readings, which could potentially affect assessment. The Connex ProBP 3400 works with the push of a button and uses technology from proven multiparameter devices. It also features Bluetooth wireless capability and USB cable-wired connectivity.

The device can also be wheeled on a mobile stand or secured to the wall. It is also compatible with a wide range of FlexiPort cuff sizes for quick and easy cuff changes. It also features a rechargeable lithium ion battery that provides at least 100 readings between charges, and the blood pressure function has been tested to last 150,000 cycles, meaning fewer interruptions to patient care. The device also retains up to 50 readings in its memory.
