Discovery CT750 HD Leverages Gemstone Technology
GE Healthcare’s Discovery CT750 HD offers excellent image clarity and low dose.
It leverages Gemstone technology with Adaptive Statistical Iterative Reconstruction (ASIR), to offer improved spatial resolution that reduces calcium blooming artifact to aid the physician in the accurate diagnosis of stenosis quantification and to manage patients appropriately for medical management and treatment. ASIR is also available on the LightSpeed VCT.
The new GE Gemstone CT scintillator material allows Gemstone Spectral Imaging (GSI). The ASIR is a GE exclusive that offers up to 50 percent less radiation dose to the patient without compromising diagnostic image quality. From high definition, dual energy, dynamic helical coverage, or up to 50 percent less dose, the company said the Discovery CT750 HD offers tremendous diversity for all CT imaging needs.
Through its ability to quantify and separate the chemical composition of materials, GSI expedites an accurate CT diagnosis. Used routinely, the material decomposition images can be leveraged to separate materials for closer evaluation, for example, assessing whether a lesion is enhancing or not enhancing. The exclusive GE spectral (monochromatic) images will optimize low contrast visualization for ideal image display, reduce beam hardening artifacts to unmask unseen anatomy and promote accurate CT numbers for quantitative assessment.
