July 26, 2010

A fourth-generation intracranial aneurysm stent system, the Neuroform EZ Stent, is designed for use in conjunction with endovascular coiling to treat wide-necked aneurysms.

The stent is engineered to provide flexibility and conformability, especially in tortuous brain anatomy. It employs Boston Scientific’s proprietary Segmental Expansion technology, designed to enhance stent anchoring and stability. The product features the proven hybrid cell design of prior-generation Neuroform Stents while incorporating a simplified, single-operator delivery system intended to facilitate preparation, delivery and positioning of the stent.

The stent was released in both Europe and trhe United States in July 2010.
