New CBCT Scanner for ENT Automatically Calculates Radiation Dose

AFP Imaging’s NewTom 3G is an in-office cone-beam CT designed for otolaryngology. The scanner can acquire 360 X-rays in only 36 seconds, and produces — with the aid of primary reconstruction software — a 3D database of the patient’s maxillofacial anatomy.

Instead of one-size-fits-all dosing, the NewTom 3G’s Smart Beam technology automatically sets the dosage level based on patient size, a considerable benefit when imaging pediatric patients.
