Patient-Specific Injection Protocols for Cardiac CT

October 11, 2006

New technology for the Stellant D CT Injection System from MEDRAD is designed to improve timing for cardiac CT imaging. SmartFlow automatically suggests injection protocols by factoring in patient-specific parameters, which can be a time-consuming process if done manually.

With Smartflow, a site can select preferences such as flow rates or grams of iodine over time in advance. Reportedly, the technologist would then only need to enter a few patient-specific parameters to activate the Stellant to calculate a suggested protocol that can then be used as-is or adjusted at the user’s discretion.
