360 Degree View of a Smartphone Performing a Cardiac Echo Exam

This 360 degree photo shows a basic, point-of-care cardiac echocardiogram being performed using a smartphone turned into an ultrasound platform using an app and the Butterfly iQ transducer. The system allows inexpensive access to an easy-to-use ultrasound system to better triage patients and determine if more advanced imaging exams or emergency procedures are required. The system has apps for more than 20 types of ultrasound exams, including lung, heart, liver, vascular, MSK and abdominal.

The system was being demonstrated during the 2019 American Society of Echocardiography (ASE) meeting in June.
