High-Field MRI Saves Facilities Up to 50 Percent of Energy

February 11, 2008 - Battlefield Imaging of Ringgold, GA, has become the first facility in the U.S. to install the MAGNETOM ESSENZA magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) system from Siemens Healthcare, designed to be an affordable 1.5 Tesla system.

According to Siemens, the system is designed to provide an optimal operating cost, which could save facilities as much as 50 percent on their MR energy bill, compared with older systems.

Due to its 1.5T field strength, the MAGNETOM ESSENZA is designed to support a complete range of clinical applications, including neurology, orthopedics, body imaging, angiography, cardiology, breast imaging, oncology and pediatric imaging. The automated workflow makes MAGNETOM ESSENZA simple to learn and easy to use for less-experienced MR users said the company. The system’s V-engine gradients (30 mT/m) and Tim (Total imaging matrix) technology is made to boost patient throughput.

Battlefield Imaging won Outpatient Care Technology's 2007 Outpatient Excellence Award for Imaging Centers.
