Cardiovascular Information System Offers Fetal to Adult Management

Horizon Cardiology, a cardiovascular information system (CVIS) from McKesson, is a comprehensive information solution from fetal to adult (including congenital) that supports cardiac and peripheral catheterization, hemodynamic monitoring, echocardiography, vascular ultrasound, nuclear cardiology and electrocardiogram (ECG) management. Built on a single platform, single database architecture, Horizon Cardiology focuses on charge capture and parallel workflows to boost efficiencies and reduce costs.

It provides state-of-the-art views into patient care, supporting:
• Cardiac computed tomography (CT) imaging through complete integration of TeraRecon’s AcquariusNET and Vital Images Vitrea thin-client systems
• 3-D/4-D echocardiography solution from TomTec Imaging Systems
• Nuclear Cardiology post processing with Syntermed’s Emory Cardiac Toolbox

In addition, the system’s use of American College of Cardiology (ACC) and American Society of Echocardiography (ASE) standards for structured reporting helps to automate submission to the ACC Registries, ICAEL, ICAVL and ICANL.
