Siemens 1MP Monitor Adds Color, Keeps Grayscale

Siemens Automation and Drives (A&D) has added a 1MP color display to its portfolio of medical monitors. The SCD 19110 offers high luminance of up to 300 cd/m2 (candelas per square meter) and an outstanding contrast ratio of 1000:1.
The 19-inch display is suitable for hospital information systems and radiology information systems, as well as review of medical images. The MVA (multi-domain vertical alignment) panel technology used on the SCD 19110 reportedly ensures a fast response time for grayscale images and a wide viewing angle. This allows several people to view the contents of the display simultaneously. The 1MP display can be used universally in hospitals and permits applications in the radiological field.
The new device has three preset look-up tables (LUTs), and the display can be automatically adapted to the application in question. The monitor parameters of the LUT comply with the DICOM (Digital Imaging and Communications in Medicine) standard.
