First ABII Board Meeting: Trustees Elect Officers

November 1, 2007 - American Board of Imaging Informatics (ABII) Trustees announced that it held its first board meeting on September 21, 2007, and elected officers to various positions.

The ABII Board of Trustees is comprised of three appointees from the Society for Imaging Informatics in Medicine (SIIM), three others appointed by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT), and one public member (yet to be named) who is not employed in the field of imaging informatics.

The members of the ABII Board are:
--Edward Bluth, MD, FACR;
--David Channin, MD;
--Richard Morin, PhD, FACR;
--Paul Nagy, PhD;
--Chuck Socia, RT(R)(CT)(QM)(ARRT), CIIP; and
--Charles Washington, MBA, RT(T)(ARRT), FASRT.

Dr. Morin was elected chair of the Board, along with Dr. Bluth as vice chair. Dr. Nagy was chosen secretary, and Mr. Socia will be treasurer.

The ABII board is charged with setting policy for the Imaging Informatics in Medicine certification program and for overseeing the operations of the organization.
