Frost and Sullivan Awards TeraRecon the Company of the Year Award

March 8, 2010 – Advanced visualization and decision support solutions maker TeraRecon was awarded Frost and Sullivan’s “Company of the Year Award,” in the category of medical imaging, advanced visualization applications, Europe 2010. This award represents the fifth time TeraRecon has been recognized with an award from the healthcare market-consulting firm.

Frost and Sullivan said TeraRecon has become the largest independent vendor from a revenue perspective in the European advanced visualization market. “Perceived as a technology leader, TeraRecon has pioneered the enterprise model for advanced visualization and continues to capitalize on direct sales to end customers at the enterprise level, where it recognizes the large majority of its revenue.” Frost and Sullivan said in the text of the award. “Its solution is recognized as the most advanced in the marketplace in terms of its remote access capabilities, as well as for its performance, which constitute the two most important features of advanced visualization solutions after ease-of-use. The TeraRecon solution leverages the company’s own uniquely powerful custom visualization hardware technology, or when appropriate, purely software-based alternatives.”

The Company of the Year Award is a prestigious recognition of TeraRecon’s accomplishments in innovating advanced visualization applications. The company provides an advanced 3D image processing capability deployed through a server-based architecture. This compact architecture provides an image processing solution for the entire radiology department. Frost and Sullivan wrote the image processing software that TeraRecon offers has a high degree of automation capable of segmenting specific aspects of various organs. Moreover, this automation occurs in a predeclared form, even before the radiologist begins to execute further manipulations and necessary interpretations. The company also offers a decision support platform that aids radiologist and other physicians to make better assessment of the images.

In addition to excellence in technology, the company’s business practices are also recognized. “The technological innovation is accompanied by a terrific team of country-specific managers for TeraRecon, Frost and Sullivan wrote. “The company practices decentralized management strategies across Europe. Each country manager understands the intricacies of their products and in turn caters to their respective country in a manner that is encompassed by cultural understanding and effective business development.”

The timing of this award came as TeraRecon present its latest innovations at the 22nd annual European Congress of Radiology in Vienna, Austria.
