Frost & Sullivan to Present Medical Imaging, Device Awards

March 16, 2009 - Frost & Sullivan said it will be naming the recipients of its 2009 Excellence in Medical Technologies & Life Sciences Awards at a banquet that will take place on Wednesday, March 18, 2009, in San Francisco, CA.

The Medical Technologies & Life Sciences Awards are given to companies that have made a significant contribution to the pharmaceutical, biotech, drug discovery, clinical diagnostics, medical imaging and medical device industries. Such companies have shown success at meeting the needs of patients and other stakeholders in the healthcare industry, while building world-class companies with strong management teams.

The evening will feature a CEO Roundtable session titled, "CEO Insights: Healthcare and Life Sciences Growth Leadership Panel," in which five senior-level executives will discuss how they have been able to address challenges and still realize growth.

To choose award recipients, Frost & Sullivan's healthcare analyst team tracks emerging and existing markets and evaluates the contributions of industry participants. Analysts quantify several market factors for each participant according to predetermined criteria that define innovation in medical technologies and life sciences. The analysts also consider the pace of technology development and deployment and the potential relevance or significance of the innovation to the overall industry. The Award recipient is ultimately chosen after a thorough evaluation of this research.

The Awards banquet will take place from 5:00 p.m. until 10:00 p.m. on Wednesday, March 18, 2009 at the Hyatt Fisherman's Wharf, located at 555 North Point Street in San Francisco. The Awards banquet will be co-located with 14th Annual Medical Devices 2009: A Frost & Sullivan Executive MindXchange, taking place March 15-17, 2009.
