1.25-MM PTCA Dilatation Catheter Gets CE Mark

April 8, 2008 - OrbusNeich received CE Mark approval for the Sapphire 1.25-mm PTCA dilatation catheter, a small-diameter balloon catheter designed specifically for the pre-dilatation of tight, calcified chronic total occlusion (CTO) lesions that require the best crossability, providing physicians with enhanced pushability and superior kink resistance.

The Sapphire 1.25mm is a 5-mm in length and 8-mm, 10-mm and 15-mm lengths are also offered. OrbusNeich has added the new catheter to its product portfolio of the Genous Bio-engineered R stent, an antibody-coated device that is the first-ever stent to capture a patient's endothelial progenitor cells (EPCs) to accelerate the natural healing process following placement.
