ATS Medical to Sponsor Symposium, Exhibit at STS Meeting

January 23, 2009 - ATS Medical Inc. (ATS) is sponsoring "Frontiers in Cryoablation," a symposium designed to provide a unique forum for sharing experiences among physician attendees, to be held during the 45th Annual Meeting of the Society of Thoracic Surgeons (STS) Jan. 24-28, 2009 in San Francisco.

ATS Medical's Cryoablation Scientific Advisory Board members will lead the open discussion in a question and answer format. The symposium will be held on Sunday, Jan. 25th at 7:00 pm at the Marriott San Francisco.

ATS will also display its product offerings for heart valve therapy and surgical ablation of cardiac arrhythmias during the annual meeting. The ATS CryoMaze system for surgical cryoablation will be prominently featured as will the ATS Open Pivot mechanical heart valve franchise, including its newest iteration, the ATS Open Pivot AP360, and as its newly-approved ATS 3f Aortic Bioprosthesis tissue valve.

The AP360 valve's unique open pivot design reportedly results in exceptional performance and a low risk profile while the ATS 3f Aortic Bioprosthesis, whose design is based on the precept that "Form Follows Function," is said to be a revolutionary next-generation stentless pericardical aortic tissue valve unlike any other.

Also on display, the ATS Simulus annuloplasty product line has expanded to include flexible and semi-rigid offerings. ATS Medical will co-sponsor a symposium entitled "Future-Proof Your Practice With Technologies Available Now" Saturday, Jan. 24th at 6:30 pm at the W Hotel, San Francisco, where respected surgeons will discuss the integration of new techniques to improve cardiac procedures. Daniel Bethencourt, M.D., Long Beach Memorial Hospital, will include his experience with ATS Simulus products during his presentation entitled "Modernized Valve Repair-Techniques, Approaches, and Rings".
