PICC Kit Allows Bedside Catheter Insertion

The Morpheus CT PICC Insertion Kit reportedly allows AngioDynamics’ peripherally inserted central catheter (PICC) to be inserted at a patient's bedside instead of in the interventional radiology suite at the hospital, which is the current practice.

The kit is designed for interventional radiologists, nurse practitioners, physician assistants and radiology technicians who perform the placement of PICCs.

The kit is used for short and long-term peripheral access to the central venous system for intravenous therapy and power injections of contrast media. It features the dual durometer catheter shaft made of Durathane, a biocompatible and durable material that reportedly offers increased stiffness for ease of placement while also providing patient comfort.
