Feb. 14, 2026 — Cardiovascular Research Foundation (CRF) has announced the creation of Complex Coronary Summit, a new educational experience that will merg  two of the field’s most influential interventional cardiology programs: CTO Plus and the Interventional Complications course. The combined meeting will debut in 2027, forming a single, comprehensive forum designed to advance the treatment of complex coronary disease, enhance complication management, and elevate clinical excellence worldwide.

Complex Coronary Summit will launch Jan. 20–22, 2027 in Miami Beach.

“Complex Coronary Summit represents a major step forward in how we teach, learn, and advance complex coronary intervention,” said Juan F. Granada, MD, president and CEO of CRF. “CTO Plus and Interventional Complications each have extraordinary histories and global communities. Combining them creates a deeper, more dynamic environment that supports clinicians at every stage of decision‑making, technical mastery, and patient care.”

For more than two decades, CTO Plus has been CRF’s premier global forum for chronic total occlusion and complex PCI, recognized worldwide for advancing pioneering techniques, breakthrough technologies, and clinical insights that improve outcomes for patients with the most challenging coronary disease. Similarly, the Interventional Complications course has become the field’s leading program dedicated to complication management in the cath lab equipping operators with the skills, confidence, and resilience needed to navigate adverse events.

“CTO Plus has built a loyal, passionate community committed to technical excellence and case-based learning,” said Margaret B. McEntegart, MD, PhD, Program Director, CTO Plus. “The Complex Coronary Summit preserves that spirit and culture while expanding far beyond CTO to address the full spectrum of complex coronary disease that reflects the complexities of contemporary practice. It’s an exciting evolution — and one that will empower even more clinicians to deliver the highest standard of care.”

Focused on the management of advanced coronary artery disease, the Complex Coronary Summit will guide interventionalists through the full spectrum of care — from procedural planning using state-of-the-art imaging modalities such as CT, to mastering complex techniques including CTO PCI, to understanding and mitigating complications in high‑risk cases. The program offers an unparalleled opportunity for interventionalists to elevate their skills and improve outcomes for complex patients.

“Mastery in interventional cardiology requires both technical excellence and a thoughtful understanding of complications,” said Martin B. Leon, MD, founder and chairman emeritus of CRF. “Unifying these programs allows us to deliver a comprehensive educational experience unlike any other — one that elevates operators, inspires innovation, and ultimately improves patient outcomes.”
