Featherstone Informatics Named Exclusive Vendor for the ACC's Practice-Based Data Registry Program

August 45, 2009 – Featherstone Informatics Group Inc. (FIG) this week said it was chosen as the exclusive vendor for the American College of Cardiology's practice-based quality improvement program, called the IC3 Program (Improving Continuous Cardiac Care).

FIG will coordinate the program's electronic health record (EHR) interfacing and data extraction process beginning with gathering over 100,000 patient records. FIG will deploy its workflow management and automation solution known as FIGMD Workflow Manager at practices throughout the nation and assist the ACC in mapping and extracting clinical data from the practice's health record systems. The ACC will take the extracted data and employ its proprietary analysis and reporting algorithms to benchmark physician and practice clinical performance.

"This partnership with FIG elevates the ACC's IC3 Program to the next level and allows us to collect vital information as we work to engage practices across the country and continue to improve cardiovascular care," said Jack Lewin, M.D., CEO of the ACC. "The information extracted will play an integral role in helping practices measure their performance and improve quality of care, allowing us to take proactive steps in reforming healthcare from the inside out."

"We look forward to working with the ACC in combining our experience in health IT and systems integration with ACC's knowledge and leadership in helping improve quality of cardiac care across our nation," said Sanket Baralay, CEO of FIG. "FIGMD Workflow Manager offers a comprehensive clinical and administrative data collection, aggregation, analysis and reporting platform."
