GE Ultrasound Named ‘Best in KLAS’

July 26, 2011 – According to the 2011 Top 20 Best in KLAS Awards: Medical Equipment & Infrastructure report, GE Healthcare’s Logiq E9 has been recognized as the top general imaging ultrasound system in the market. In the same report, GE’s Vivid E9 was awarded a share of the top spot for cardiovascular ultrasound systems.

KLAS is a research firm specializing in monitoring and reporting on the performance of healthcare vendors. Annual rankings of the best-performing medical equipment vendors are based on evaluations submitted by thousands of healthcare providers throughout the United States and Canada over the past 12 months. KLAS rankings measure a vendor’s performance in areas like product quality, implementation, and service and support, and a ‘Best in KLAS’ distinction signifies their leadership in meeting customer expectations.

Overall, Logiq E9 customers recognized their experience with GE and the general imaging product as exceptionally positive. In fact, 100 percent of Logiq E9 customers polled said they would purchase the product again.

According to a Logiq E9 customer surveyed by KLAS, “GE definitely hit the mark with this one. We started on the right foot with the implementation… [They] helped us get everything set up correctly before they left. The image quality is above and beyond what I have seen before, and the unit is just very user friendly. The knobs are very intuitive. We just instinctively know where the controls are for certain functions because the machines are designed so well.”

"The E9 products from GE Healthcare continue to be a tremendous asset for medical providers in the general imaging and cardiovascular settings," said Harvey Klein, Ph.D., president of Klein Biomedical Consultants. "The Logic E9 specifically has had one of the fastest uptakes in the U.S. of any product that I've seen in the industry in many years."

As for the Vivid E9, GE cardiovascular ultrasound customers have told the company they recognize its ease of use, robust clinical capabilities and the reliability and quality of the GE service team as part of the reasons for their favorable impressions of the system. One hundred percent of Vivid E9 customers outlined that the product has needed functionality and according to the “Echo 2011: A Tight Race at the Top” report from KLAS, 95 percent of them claimed they would purchase the product again if they had to.

According to a Vivid E9 customer cited in the KLAS report interviewed by KLAS, “The Vivid E9 is a solid system with very little downtime. The technology is excellent and offers exactly what we need. The ergonomics are great, and the image quality is outstanding. We are very happy with our GE ultrasound.”
