Hunt Regional Healthcare Launches Mobile Results Distribution With Agfa’s Xero Viewer

Integrated radiology and cardiology PACS with Xero Viewer enables consolidated view of imaging and information

April 29, 2013 — Agfa HealthCare announced that Hunt Regional Healthcare, Greenville, Texas, has upgraded its Agfa HealthCare picture archive and communication system (PACS) to Impax 6.5 and installed Agfa HealthCare's Cardiology PACS and Xero Viewer to deliver a consolidated view and centralized management of patient, image and information data. With the addition of Agfa HealthCare's Xero Viewer, physicians are able to access the nearly 100,000 imaging exams and reports done each year, on virtually any Hunt Regional facility device. Because the information is Web-based, physicians can access the results in real time.

Xero Viewer converts images and content for display in the browser without requiring any client software installation. Using standards-based interfaces and powerful image processing, Xero Viewer will allow clinicians to retrieve, view and manipulate images while providing access to imaging information, including computed tomography (CT), X-ray, magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), ultrasonography (US), nuclear medicine (NM), radiographic fluoroscopy (RF), mammography and echocardiography, electrocardiography (ECG) and cath lab. Xero Viewer is part of the Imaging Clinical Information System (ICIS) solution suite that empowers enterprise-wide imaging management and accessibility.

"Installing the Impax upgrade has made a huge difference in patient care as well as productivity," said John Ervin, imaging director of Hunt Regional Healthcare. "Our physicians simply go to a single URL using a secure link to access images. Not only is it easier for the physicians to get access to the information, but we're able to get images to them a lot quicker."
