This channel includes news and new technology innovations for cardiovascular information systems, CVIS, also called cardiac PACS and cardiovascular information and imaging systems. These cardiac reporting systems connect to the overall patient electronic medical record (EMR), cardiac imaging, echo reporting, diagnostic test (ECG) reporting, cath lab hemodynamics system, and other components to aggregate all cardiac patient data, imaging and waveforms into one location.

An example of workflow efficiencies in newer CVIS systems. This example from Philips IntelliSpace Cardiovascular, a cardiac PACS plus CVIS system, shows a patient timeline with icons to show various tests, exams or procedures in an easy to understand format. The cath lab cardiac diagram can be modified by the user with stents and degree of stenosis, which automatically flows text information into the report. #CVIS, Cardiac PACS, cardiology image and information system (CIIMS)
