Cardiac PACS

This channel includes news and new technology innovations for cardiovascular information systems, CVIS, also called cardiac PACS and cardiovascular information and imaging systems. These cardiac reporting systems connect to the overall patient electronic medical record (EMR), cardiac imaging, echo reporting, diagnostic test (ECG) reporting, cath lab hemodynamics system, and other components to aggregate all cardiac patient data, imaging and waveforms into one location.

Big data from regional health exchanges can help identify patients who are at high risk for developing cardiovascular disease and stroke based on blood pressure readings and trends from their office visits over time that arestored in the electronic health records. This information can be used to target these patients with more followups, education and more intensive prevention programs.
