Blipcare Unveils World's First Wi-Fi Blood Pressure Monitor

December 20, 2012 — BlipCare has presented the world's first Wi-Fi blood pressure monitor on international crowd funding site Indiegogo.

The BlipCare Wi-Fi blood pressure monitor can be used by two users to track readings over the home Wi-Fi network. It is also the first blood pressure monitor that can be programmed over the Web to provide "timely reminders" to take readings. Users can set goals, visualize data and get tailored insights using the free portal and tracking tools.

Users also will be able to get analytical reports for discussion with their physicians on how to change medication for improved blood pressure control.

"We saw the need for a Wi-Fi-based blood pressure monitor that I could give to my father and monitor him remotely," said BlipCare CEO and founder Sukhwant Khanuja. "He does not care for a smart phone so Bluetooth was not a possibility, but he does have Wi-Fi at home. We now know when he does not take a reading, or if the reading is out of predefined levels. This keeps our whole family connected and involved in his care."
