Metabolic Stress Testing System Offers Breath-by-Breath Analysis

May 10, 2010 – A new metabolic stress testing system combines an integrated 12-lead electrocardiogram (ECG) for heart function and a pulmonary assessment system. The Ultima CardiO2 metabolic stress testing system was created through a partnership between Angeion Corp. and Mortara Instrument Inc.

The system is supposed to enhance testing capabilities, making the system a complete metabolic stress testing solution that provides true breath-by-breath analysis. The Ultima series of products offers flexibility to configure both pulmonary function and gas exchange systems to meet clinicians’ current and future diagnostic needs. Mortara's Vertitas ECG algorithms are used in the system for cardiopulmonary stress testing.
