Philips Introduces iDose4 Premium Package

June 22, 2012 — Philips introduced the iDose4 Premium Package, which includes two technologies that can improve image quality: the iDose4 iterative reconstruction technique, and metal artifact reduction for large orthopedic implants (O-MAR).

iDose4 allows radiologists to personalize image quality based on each patient’s needs. This advanced iterative reconstruction technique provides up to 57 percent improvement in spatial resolution at low dose, and the majority of iDose4 reference protocols are reconstructed in 60 seconds or less. Image quality is enhanced through (O-MAR), which reduces artifacts caused by large metal implants, such as prosthetic hip replacements. Together, the technologies of the iDose4 Premium Package (iDose4 and O-MAR) produce high image quality with reduced artifacts.

“Image quality and dose management are two of our highest priorities,” said George Ebert, M.D., Ph.D., vice chair of imaging technology at Fletcher Allen Health Care. “By using iDose4 we can manage dose without sacrificing image quality. With O-MAR we achieve reduced artifacts caused by orthopedic implants. The iDose4 Premium Package is a smart offering of these two technologies.”

The iDose4 Premium Package was showcased at the International Society for Computed Tomography (ISCT) Annual International Symposium June 17-20 in San Francisco.
