TeraRecon Introduces Multimodality iNtuition Review and iNtuition Share at AOCR 2012

September 10, 2012 — TeraRecon, a dedicated provider of advanced visualization solutions for medical imaging, announced the launch of iNtuition Review, iNtuition Enterprise Medical Viewer (iEMV) and iNtuition Share, at the 14th Congress of the Asian Oceanian Society of Radiology (AOCR) and 63rd Annual Scientific Meeting of The Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Radiologists (RANZCR), held in Sydney, Australia, from Aug. 30 to Sept. 2. This newly introduced software suite enhances the iNtuition portfolio with multimodality review solutions for advanced imaging, such as cardiac and breast procedures, with enterprise distribution and image sharing capability.

"We are pleased to announce the launch of iNtuition Review, iEMV and iNtuition Share at AOCR/ RANZCR 2012, which brings professional multimodality review to the iNtuition family, along with the capability to distribute images to the entire enterprise through a zero-footprint, browser-based viewer," said Robert Taylor, Ph.D., president and CEO of TeraRecon. "The theme of the AOCR/RANZCR meeting is ‘Safe and Sound: Radiology in the 21st Century,’ and the program has a strong emphasis on multimodality imaging such as PET/MR (positron emission tomography/magnetic resonance), and minimally invasive therapeutic disciplines, such as interventional oncology and endovascular aortic repair (EVAR). These elements of the 2012 meeting strongly align with TeraRecon’s mission to deliver best-in-class multimodality clinical tools to support advanced imaging procedures, in parallel with highly scalable technology to connect physicians across specialty and geography, and to deliver the results of such interpretations beyond radiology, in context.”

iNtuition Review

iNtuition Review expands the client capability of the company’s flagship iNtuition solution to support advanced professional multimodality multi-monitor review. Especially suited to the review of images related to conditions typically involving multimodality imaging such as cardiac (catherization, echocardiography, computed tomography [CT], qualitative MR) and breast (mammography, breast MRI, ultrasound), iNtuition Review enhances the role of iNtuition as a complement to PACS (picture archiving and communication systems) within radiology workflow. iNtuition Review includes special functionality to create folders of cases for presentation in daily or weekly radiology conferences and multidisciplinary meetings.

iNtuition Enterprise Medical Viewer

iEMV builds upon the multimodality review capability of iNtuition Review by providing a simple, intuitive, browser-based client which requires no download, no installation and no plugin. A zero-footprint viewer, which supports a wide range of browsers, iEMV seamlessly integrates with the advanced visualization scene files from the iNtuition Client and multimodality case presentations from iNtuition Review. iEMV solution is massively scalable, VMWare-ready and virtualizable. On the client side, iEMV is equipped to integrate with electronic medical records (EMR), hospital information systems (HIS) and PACS for enterprise access to image and non-image data in the context of access to the complete patient medical record.

iNtuition Share

Leveraging the iNtuition Uploader, iNtuition Share makes possible CD-free transport and distribution of images between medical facilities and peers or patients. When a healthcare facility deploys an iNtuition Share server, it is able to offer free access to network upload of images to institutions that need to send images into the facility, while removing the need to burn CDs for outgoing images. It is now possible to simply provide a link through which external facilities and patients can view and download images as required.
