At the SCAI 2025 Scientific Sessions in Washington, DC, SCAI President James B. Hermiller, MD, MSCAI, recognized several individuals for their outstanding service, leadership, and contributions to patient care.
“These distinguished honorees have demonstrated an unparalleled commitment to advancing interventional cardiology, shaping the future of patient care, and strengthening our Society,” said SCAI President James B. Helping Hearts Lifetime Service Award
Established to recognize Fellows of SCAI who have provided long-standing and substantive service to the Society, the Helping Hearts Lifetime Service Award honors individuals who exemplify professional excellence, ethical leadership, and a dedication to advancing interventional cardiology.
Recipient
Dr. Kereiakes, President and Medical Director of The Christ Hospital Heart and Vascular Institute and Medical Director of The Christ Hospital Research Institute, is honored for his exceptional leadership, research, and service to SCAI. Throughout his career, he has played a vital role in pioneering clinical research, leading FDA approval trials for more than 20 novel drugs and medical devices. A renowned interventional cardiologist with a record of over 30,000 catheterization procedures, Dr. Kereiakes has dedicated himself to excellence in patient care, innovation, and mentorship.
Helping Little Hearts Lifetime Service Award
Created in 2021, the Helping Little Hearts Lifetime Service Award recognizes interventional cardiologists specializing in pediatric congenital heart disease who have worked tirelessly to develop less invasive solutions and improve outcomes for young patients.

Dr. Vincent, a pediatric interventional cardiologist and Director of the Cardiac Catheterization Laboratories at Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta, has made invaluable contributions to the treatment of congenital heart disease. Over the course of his career, Dr. Vincent has advanced interventional strategies, advocated for quality improvement initiatives, and helped shape the future of pediatric cardiology. His leadership within SCAI and the broader field of interventional cardiology underscores his commitment to excellence in patient care and research.
F. Mason Sones, Jr., MD, FSCAI Distinguished Service Award
Named after one of SCAI’s founders, the F. Mason Sones, Jr., MD, FSCAI Distinguished Service Award was established in 2001 to recognize SCAI Fellows who have significantly enhanced the Society’s stature or made notable contributions to its mission.

A global leader in clinical trials and imaging studies, she has played a critical role in advancing the evaluation of interventional devices and therapies, shaping the future of patient care and innovation.

A past president of SCAI, Dr. Henry has been instrumental in leading large-scale research trials and implementing strategies to enhance patient care worldwide.
