Samsung Introduces RS80A Ultrasound System

Light source selection, hybrid beamforming among features that enhance imaging quality


November 25, 2014 — Samsung Electronics America Inc. announced availability in the United States of the Samsung RS80A, a high-resolution ultrasound system. Incorporating Samsung’s latest technology, the RS80A offers sophisticated digital image processing and high resolution to support accurate diagnosis. 

The system provides fast, easy and accurate imaging across a number of applications, such as abdomen, vascular, cardiac, small organs, breast, urology, musculoskeletal, pediatric and fetal/obstetrics and gynecology.

The RS80A operates on Samsung’s S-Vision architecture complemented by S-Vue transducer performance and ClearVision sophisticated digital imaging processing. With advancements, including hybrid beamforming technology, the next-generation SDMR and Single Crystal Probe technology, the Samsung RS80A delivers consistent and high-resolution image quality.

A comprehensive 3-D technology suite includes Realistic Vue. This allows the user to select light source direction to display high-resolution 3-D anatomy with detail and realistic depth perception. The product also offers a comprehensive selection of 2-D, 3-D and 4-D transducers and the reliability of a solid state drive.

The RS80A incorporates a high-resolution, 23-inch HD LED display; a 13.3-inch tilting tablet touchscreen; and a six-way motorized adjustable console.
