Merit Medical Launches Prelude Snap Splittable Sheath Introducer

Device is 33 percent easier to break with seamless sheath-to-dilator transition

Merit Medical, Prelude Snap, splittable sheath introducer

June 3, 2015 - Merit Medical Systems Inc. announced the launch of the Prelude Snap splittable sheath introducer.

The Prelude Snap is easier to break, approximately 33 percent easier than competitors. An easier-to-break sheath can minimize harsh movements of the lead during removal and help ensure leads stay in place.

The device was also designed with patients in mind, and features a smooth, seamless sheath-to-dilator transition to reduce vessel trauma and provide ease of vessel insertion.

The Prelude Snap comes in a number of sizes, ranging from 6 to 12.5 French. Each product kit contains the Prelude Snap splittable sheath introducer, dilator, 0.038" x 50 cm or 0.038" x 80 cm guide wire, an 18 gauge x 7 cm Merit Advance Needle with approximately 46 percent less drag, and a 12 mL syringe.
