Vital Images Inc. announced enhancements in image management to its VitreaView enterprise viewer with VioStream software. Today, many healthcare organizations are challenged to unify access to imaging content, often spread across a number of departmental picture archive and communication systems (PACS) and distributed locations. Vital is now offering building blocks which will enable full image access through electronic health records (EHRs).

CIRS will feature a variety of quality assurance (QA), research and training phantoms for all radiology imaging modalities at the 2014 Radiological Society of North America (RSNA) meeting, held Nov. 30-Dec. 3 in Chicago.

DAPT study

Patients who took dual antiplatelet therapy medications beyond the standard 12 months after coronary stent placement were significantly less likely to develop blood clots within their stents or to have a heart attack than those whose treatment followed the standard 12 month protocol. This was according to data from the DAPT (Dual Antiplatelet Therapy) Study, a key late-breaking clinical trial presented at the American Heart Association’s Scientific Sessions 2014 this week.
