Pending 510(k) clearance, the MX series is a family of CT scanners that reportedly have a loyal customer following in other parts of the world. This 16-slice system is designed for those customers who want to replace their current scanner or add a second system, but have purchasing cost concerns stemming from economic pressures.

November 26, 2008 - ATS Medical Inc. this week said the first three commercial implants of the ATS 3f Aortic Bioprosthesis were completed Nov. 17 and 18 by Allan Stewart, M.D., director, aortic surgery program at Columbia University Medical Center in New York.

The ATS 3f Aortic Bioprosthesis is the company’s first entry into the $400-plus million U.S. tissue valve market. The ATS 3f is a new generation, stentless pericardial aortic tissue valve that is unlike any other valve.

November 26, 2008 - Patients prescribed clopidogrel (Plavix) and other anti-clotting medications after undergoing interventional cardiology procedures should continue taking their medicines unless their cardiologist tells them to stop, despite conflicting data from two studies presented at the 2008 American Heart Association Scientific Sessions concerning possible interaction between clopidogrel and heartburn medication proton pump inhibitors (PPI; common brands include Prilosec, Prevacid and Nexium).
