July 16, 2008 - Stereotaxis Inc. said today the pediatric cardiology team at the Heart and Diabetes Center of North Reinland-Westphalia in Bad Oeynhausen, Germany, successfully performed a first-of-its-kind procedure to treat pulmonary atresia in a 10-year old boy using the Niobe Magnetic Navigation System.

July 16, 2008 - Earlier this week President Bush vetoed the Medicare Improvements for Patients and Providers Act (HR 6331) because it excluded a 10.6 percent pay cut to doctors who treat patients in the Medicare program. July 15, 2008 - Cardiac Science today launched its HeartCentrix 6.2 data management product for the physician office to connect Burdick and Quinton equipment to an electronic medical record (EMR) system.

The connectivity gives access to test results remotely and across locations with a single sign-on from within the EMR itself.

July 15, 2008 – Presbyterian Hospital of Dallas broke its door-to-balloon time record with a 28-minute turn around time after a man suffering a heart attack recently came into the ER and was treated with an angioplasty procedure in the hospital’s cardiac catheterization lab.

July 14, 2008 – The Access to Medical Imaging Coalition (AMIC) said in a statement today, "A report from the Government Accountability Office (GAO) that recommends Medicare adopt prior authorization criteria to address appropriate utilization of medical imaging services was constructed on an incomplete analysis and should not be used by policymakers to make coverage decisions."
