S-ICD Patient Drape Now Available From Ecolab

September 12, 2014 — Ecolab Healthcare announced the availability of the PD220 patient drape, the first to market specifically for Boston Scientific’s subcutaneous implantable cardioverter-defibrillator (S-ICD) procedure.

The new drape features a fully absorbent top layer, an impervious layer that prevents fluids from reaching the patient and a soft under-layer for patient comfort. The unique design of the PD220 includes clear side windows as well as a side wing that extends over the patient’s arm to maintain a sterile field. The drapes’ large opening accommodates the surgical prep area and margins, which are an important step to preventing surgical site infection. In addition, it is longer than most generic laparoscopic patient drapes.
