Cardiovascular Ultrasound

This channel includes news and new technology innovations about cardiovascular ultrasound. Cardiovascular ultrasounds, or echocardiograms, use sound waves to to create images of the heart. The technology is commonly used to assess overall cardiac function and assess left or right ventricular ejection fractions. It also can show blood flow is the tissues and within the ventricles, valve function, fluid accumulation, the formation of thrombus inside the heart, and strain wall motion imaging to assess the function of the heart. It is also commonly used to guide transcatheter structural heart procedures. This channel includes information on transesophageal echo (TEE), intra-cardiac echo (ICE) and point-of-care ultrasound (POCUS) systems.
