Carestream Vue Cardio PACS

October 2, 2013 — Rochelle Community Hospital purchased and installed Carestream’s Vue Cardio PACS (picture archive and communications system) that provides fully featured viewing and management for its echo cardiograms and nuclear cardiology exams. This versatile system will also support ECGs and other types of cardiac exams that the critical access hospital may add in the future.

“Carestream’s Vue Cardio PACS system offers advanced reading and measurement tools and structured reporting with an electronic signature. In addition, all cardiac studies are available from a single worklist. These capabilities can greatly enhance our cardiologists’ productivity,” said Scott Stewart, the hospital’s manager of information services.

Hospital staff integrated the Web-based Vue Cardio PACS with an existing Carestream Vue PACS so both systems can use the same interface to the hospital information system (HIS) and also share Carestream Vue for Vendor Neutral Archive. A consolidated archive may help reduce costs and enhance workflow by helping to eliminate departmental silos of clinical information.

“Vue Cardio PACS was by far the easiest implementation we have ever had. Carestream’s team built upon our existing infrastructure and equipped us with an integrated system in a very timely manner. Users of our HIS can open a cardiology report and imaging study with just one click, so it’s extremely efficient for all our clinicians,” Stewart reports. “The Vue Archive also helps our staff by simplifying support for multiple departmental systems.”

Vue Cardio PACS can help streamline on-site and remote access to medical images for faster diagnosis, reporting, storage and distribution of clinical data. Carestream Vue Archive is available as an on-site or cloud-based solution and can be accessed anywhere, anytime using Carestream’s zero-footprint, Web-based Vue Motion image viewer. The viewer allows physicians to review information quickly and easily on Web-enabled devices such as an iPad.
