July 16, 2026 — Imperative Care has introduced the Ikon 24 Pro Guidewire, a neurovascular guidewire purpose-built to improve vascular access during stroke procedures.
“Advances in aspiration thrombectomy over the past decade have created an opportunity to develop a guidewire that better supports today’s procedural workflow,” said Jay Martin, Chief Commercial Officer of Imperative Care. “Ikon 24 Pro is the latest addition to our stroke portfolio and reflects Imperative Care’s commitment to innovating every step of the procedure. This advanced neurovascular guidewire was designed to give physicians the support and control needed to confidently treat a broad range of stroke patients.”
Engineered differently from traditional guidewires, Ikon 24 Pro incorporates three core capabilities:
-
The first uniform 0.024” wire: a 0.024” diameter throughout the length of the guidewire, engineered to deliver robust performance and precise control from tip to tail.
-
Progressive support profile: an innovative transitional shaft design, precisely matched to the Zoom Catheters, intended to balance support and flexibility above and below the arch.
-
Precision you can feel: designed to enhance tactile feedback to provide intuitive handling and real-time control at every turn.
Enhancing the Entire Stroke System
Together, these capabilities are intended to give physicians a guidewire designed to enhance the entire stroke system for aspiration thrombectomy. Ikon 24 Pro builds on the same approach behind Imperative Care’s Zoom 0.088” intracranial access technology, which has demonstrated physician adoption due to its combination of proximal support for the arch and distal flexibility for navigating tortuous neurovasculature. Ikon 24 Pro is designed to help improve procedural speed and efficiency when paired with the Zoom Stroke System.
“Ikon 24 Pro offers a reliable balance of support and flexibility that is well-suited for acute stroke interventions,” said Kunal Vakharia, MD, University of South Florida, who was among the first physicians to perform patient cases with the guidewire. “In my clinical experience, the wire has provided consistent navigability and excellent control, making my stroke procedures more efficient with the Zoom System.”
