January 28, 2009 - SurModics Inc. and Nexeon MedSystems Inc. this week signed a licensing agreement to collaborate on development of a novel stent system for the treatment of renal artery disease.

This agreement is in addition to the prior one announced in July 2007 to develop a novel stent system for coronary artery disease, which is now in clinical trials. SurModics is also an equity investor in Nexeon MedSystems.

January 28, 2009 - The AF Summit returns this year during Heart Rhythm 2009, set for May 13-16 in Boston, after a sold-out event at Heart Rhythm 2007.

January 28, 2009 - FluoroPharma Inc., a molecular imaging company engaged in the discovery and development of proprietary products for the PET market, said it has received a U.S. Patent covering methods of imaging cardiovascular plaque formation using F18 labeled 2-fluorodeoxy-D-glucose (FDG).

This patent, exclusively licensed from the Massachusetts General Hospital (MGH), provides FluoroPharma with additional patent claims that cover imaging of atherosclerotic plaque inflammation and rupture.

January 28, 2008 - Wolters Kluwer Health recently said Adena Health System has selected ProVation MD for Cardiology for procedure documentation and coding.

Adena, which currently uses ProVation MD for Gastroenterology and Pulmonary procedures, will use the software to document diagnostic, interventional and peripheral vascular cases at its Adena Regional Medical Center catheterization lab in Chillicothe, OH.
