November, 2007 - Biosound Esaote introduced the XVision upgrade module for the MyLab 25, MyLab 30CV and MyLab 50 platforms at AHA 2007.
The XVision upgrade incorporates the new XView algorithms, which reportedly deliver a stronger and more enhanced image quality through Biosound’s MyLab ultrasound systems. XView is an algorithm that reportedly provides a significant reduction in speckle (noise) without the disadvantages found in other techniques.

November, 2007 - GE Healthcare featured products in cardiovascular ultrasound, interventional cardiology and cardiovascular IT at AHA 2007.

November 5, 2007 - New data released today at the American Heart Association's Scientific Sessions showed that Abbott's SIMCOR, an investigational, fixed-dose combination of Abbott's proprietary extended-release niacin, Niaspan, and simvastatin, met its primary endpoint of lowering plaque-promoting non-HDL cholesterol (total cholesterol minus HDL), while demonstrating improvements on other key lip

November 6, 2007 - Boston Scientific Corp. and GE Healthcare today announced a patient data integration between a cardiac rhythm management remote monitoring system and a physician's electronic medical record, currently installed at Seattle Cardiology and Cardiology Consultants of Philadelphia.

The co-development uses Boston Scientific’s LATITUDE Patient Management system to allow clinicians to collect information from a patient’s implanted cardiac device to eventually save within the GE Centricity Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system in the form of lab results.

November 4, 2007 - Itamar Medical announced that four presentations at AHA, including one from the Framingham Heart Study, link PAT signal with several cardiovascular conditions and risk factors as the technology gains broader acceptance.

The Endo-PAT, developed by Itamar Medical, is a FDA approved noninvasive device that detects a pathology called endothelial dysfunction. The condition refers to an impairment of the endothelial layer and is emerging as a key precursor for the development of atherosclerosis.

November 4, 2007 – A patient care program in North Carolina shortened the time it took to treat heart attack patients with either clot-busting drugs or percutanous coronary intervention (PCI) by up to 32 minutes, according to late-breaking research presented at the American Heart Association’s Scientific Sessions 2007.

November 5, 2007 – Boston Scientific Corp. highlighted at the American Heart Association conference its new Stentplus Patient Success Program, which provides tools designed for a cardiology team to assist drug-eluting stent patients—regardless of stent brand—to comply with dual anti-platelet therapy.

The primary goal of the program is to help improve patient adherence and patient outcomes through educational tools and assistance in identifying financial resources.

November 5, 2007 - Pinyons Medical Technology announced it received FDA clearance to market the PowrSyringe Injector, a disposable hand-held device designed to offer ergonomic and mechanical advantages to inject and aspirate fluids including use in angiography.

The Injector’s crossing handles hinge to the syringe barrel and plunger to advance the plunger into the barrel when the handles are squeezed.

The PowrSyringe is designed to bridge the gap between syringes and electronic power injectors.

November 5, 2007 - A pooled analysis of the E-SIRIUS and C-SIRIUS trials, called New SIRIUS, found that the CYPHER sirolimus-eluting coronary stent continued to provide clinical benefits with similar safety compared to a bare metal stent at five-year follow-up, according to data presented at the American Heart Association Scientific Session 2007.

November 5, 2007 - According to late-breaking clinical trial results presented at the American Heart Association’s Scientific Sessions 2007, a high-tech imaging technique might replace the more invasive standard coronary angiography as a way for doctors to look at blockages in heart arteries in some patients.
