UnityPoint Health Installs Infinix-i 4-D CT System for Interventional Procedures

November 8, 2017 — Physicians at UnityPoint Health Methodist, Peoria, Ill., are now offering fast, safe and accurate interventional radiology (IR) and oncology procedures with the Infinix-i 4D CT (computed tomography) system from Toshiba Medical, a Canon Group company. Methodist utilizes the system to perform a wide range of interventional procedures, such as tumor therapy, embolization, arterial interventions, dialysis and stent placement.

“We were looking for a hybrid lab to help us provide efficient care to our patients while prioritizing patient safety, and the Infinix-i 4D CT’s unique combination of the interventional lab and CT allows us to plan and treat in one room without moving the patient,” said Jan Namyslowski, M.D., interventional radiologist, UnityPoint Health. “This allows us to avoid transferring patients between imaging areas, which may increase exam times. Additionally, the dose management tools have been tremendous in reducing exposure to our patients and staff, making procedures even safer.”

The Infinix-i 4D CT seamlessly integrates IR and CT technology into one solution, and with real CT imaging available on demand with Toshiba Medical’s Aquilion Prime, the system can help clinicians improve their workflow and prioritize patient safety during an array of interventional procedures. The system offers clinicians high-quality imaging as well as the precision and flexibility needed during intervention, in addition to a suite of dose management features like Toshiba Medical’s AIDR (Adaptive Iterative Dose Reduction) 3-D and Dose Tracking System.
