March 10, 2008 – The Medical Imaging & Technology Alliance (MITA), a division of NEMA, today praised the 88 Members of Congress who urged the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) to reconsider its proposed national coverage decision (NCD) that will limit patient access to cardiac computed tomography angiography (CCTA).

Fujifilm will highlight the newest CVIIS release Version 4.0 from ProSolv Cardiovascular. The two products enable rotational IVUS and FFR to operate on the same integrated Volcano s5 Imaging System as Volcano’s previous line of phased array IVUS catheters and functionality.

NovaRad’s NovaPACS Cardio Viewer offers sign-on access to images or over a Web site. Features in this module include: image calibration based on catheter size, percent stenosis, choose series, cine tools, digital subtraction (displays contrast-filled vessels without any interfering background), ejection fraction and image-sharpening algorithms.

Images from the system are stored on an Online RAID 5 Archive designed with the capacity to display multiple cardiac images simultaneously and access to patient’s entire radiological or cardiological history.

Zollï's E Series defibrillators with a 12-lead reportedly offer a variety of transmission solutions and can be tailored to a specific infrastructure and budget. ZOLL Data Relay provides connectivity from the field to the hospital via fax or email, and can wirelessly transmit to a PDA so allowing users to make an assessment at any time and place, according to the company.

Cardiac Science Corp.'s portfolio of products includes the Burdick Atria 6100 ECG. The unit has 12-channel waveform, a large color LCD and can reportedly store up to 300 ECG records.

According to Cardiac Science, the system can be integrated using HeartCentrix, the Cardiac Science cardiac informatics system, to connect with HIS, EMR and other systems. The ECG devices all include options for Wi-Fi, wired Ethernet, wireless 802.11 communications and Bluetooth connectivity.
