April 4, 2008 - Cardiac Science will begin establishing Heartcentrix ECG connectivity with the Misys MyWay electronic medical record (EMR) system from Misys Healthcare, to better connect diagnostic cardiology products with EMR solution providers.

Misys MyWay integrates EMR, practice management and claims management to offer a complete solution for physicians and clinicians. The HeartCentrix solution aims to bring patient history, clinical charting, e-prescribing, lab orders, results and patient follow-up information together into a single EMR application.

April 4, 2008 - At ACC, Terumo Interventional Systems took the opportunity to tout its Runthrough NS Coronary Guidewire, designed to provide tip durability, complete torque transfer and enhanced steerability.

Terumo launched the Runthrough NS in September 2007 in the U.S. market for use in percutaneous transluminal coronary angioplasties (PTCA), as part of the company's strategy to expand its position in the coronary market.

April 4, 3008 - Codonics Inc. highlighted its Horizon Multimedia Dry Imager, which Codonics featured at ACC 2008, is a multimedia imager that provides film to color and grayscale paper to service referring physicians needs for professional patient consultation.

Horizon now adds long film to its list of media types. It prints an immediate, continuous image through a completely dry process. Available in two sizes, the 14-by-36-inch and 14- by-51-inch long film is perfect for spine and scoliosis, long bone hip-to-ankle studies as well as pediatric and adult spines.

FUJIFILM’s Synapse 3.2.1 software, an extension of version 3.2, with a new Graphic User Interface (GUI), will be featured at SIIM 2008. GUI changes include increased use of color to help identify changes in information on the display, new icons and a contrast scheme designed for radiology viewing conditions. The software also includes quadrant zooming and common frame of reference (CFOR) navigation, allowing for window/leveling, zooming and mirror panning of linked images for full field digital mammography.

April 3, 2008 - eHealth Global Technologies introduced at ACC its medical record management services, including eHealthConnect, eHealthShare and eHealthLoader, which use digital standards to collect disparate records for referred patients from reportedly any location into any digital format.

eHealthConnect replaces ad hoc data collection with a systematic method that is reliable and swift. Upon request from a clinician or administrator, the company's team collects, digitizes, organizes stores and secures medical records for clinical viewing.

April 3, 2008 - Cardinal Health reached an agreement with ClearCount Medical Solutions to distribute on of the first system cleared by the FDA that integrates both counting and detection for sponge management during surgeries.

Under the terms of the agreement, Cardinal Health will be the primary distributor for ClearCount's patented SmartSponge system to hospitals, surgery centers and other health care distributors in the U.S. The company will offer the SmartSponge system as part of its Presource surgical kits and as a stand-alone offering.

April 3, 2008 - Corgenix Medical Corp. has entered into an agreement with Randox Laboratories, a UK-based diagnostic company, in a partnership designed to expand the processing technology and distribution network of the Corgenix AspirinWorks platelets test kit product.
