Emory Practical Intervention Course (EPIC)

The Emory Practical Intervention Course (EPIC) has been an annual event since 1981 providing training for thousands of interventional cardiologists from the United States and abroad. Last year, EPIC became the Emory Practical Intervention Course-Southeast Consortium (EPIC SEC) with twelve academic centers participating. This year we are honored to announce that fifteen academic medical centers will actively contribute to this clinical, educational and research consortium and to EPIC SEC.

December 14, 2015 — St. Jude Medical Inc. announced CE Mark approval for magnetic resonance (MR) conditional labeling for the company’s currently approved Quadra Assura Cardiac Resynchronization Therapy Defibrillator (CRT-D). The Quadra Assura CRT-D and Quadra Assura MP CRT-D with MultiPoint Pacing are now approved for use with MRI scanning systems with strength up to 1.5 Tesla.

December 14, 2015 — Vital Images Inc. announced a partnership with Stratasys Ltd., a 3-D printing and additive manufacturing company, to develop an industry first print-on-demand service using Vital’s Vitrea advanced visualization software and Stratasys’ 3-D printing services. 

The partnership was demonstrated with printed 3-D models featuring both company’s technology at both Stratasys’ and Vital’s booths at the 2015 Radiological Society of North America (RSNA) annual meeting.
