Medweb Releases Gateway for EHR/EMR Integration, Mobile Applications

Gateway allows for seamless integration into any EHR/EMR and ability to run applications from any computer or mobile device

May 15, 2014 — Medweb announced the introduction of several new features for Medweb Collage that will further enable the sharing of information across healthcare systems and promote secure access to patient information from mobile devices. The EHR/EMR Gateway seamlessly integrates patient imaging and reports from Medweb Collage into any EMR (electronic medical record) via industry standards. Additionally, a new application provides mobile and/or remote access to Medweb Collage so that authorized users can view and share data via a computer or mobile device. Medweb will be showcasing these new features and more at the American Telemedicine Association 2014 annual meeting in Baltimore, May 18-20.

“In today’s changing healthcare environment, clinicians need access to patient data to make informed decisions regarding patient care, whether that access is through an EHR/EMR or remotely via mobile devices,” says Peter Killcommons, M.D., president and CEO of Medweb. “At Medweb we are dedicated to providing solutions that share patient information in real-time regardless of where the clinician or patient is located. Medweb Collage is the ideal solution enabling real-time communication and collaboration of patient data between clinicians and healthcare IT systems.”

Medweb Collage is a real-time communication and store/forward eHealth solution in a single application. It is bundled with the company’s Handheld Telemedicine Kit, complete with a uniquely upgraded Multi-Scope and integrated digital ultrasound probes, along with additional peripheral options as desired. With the new EHR (electronic health record) integration, patient data uploads seamlessly to the facility’s EHR/EMR, enabling the user to see the entire study, consult and report. Medweb's Collage EHR/EMR Gateway autopopulates patient data by entering the patient’s last name or patient ID. The user can capture images and patient demographics with the optional Medweb SmartConsult Telemedicine Clinical Pathways workflow applications.

Additional enhancements to Medweb Collage will also be introduced at ATA 2014. In a single, secure and robust platform, Medweb SmartConsult Telemedicine Clinical Pathways solution offers full radiology workflow (including image display and storage), telemedicine workflows and basic EMR tools. The platform, along with all Medweb solutions, is also available as a cloud service. Medweb combines EMR and eHealth applications into an integrated workflow solution to move the point of care into the community.
