Philips Integrates IVUS, Sends CTA to the Cath Lab

October 22, 2007 – Philips highlighted the integration of Volcano’s IVUS into its new Xper system and TrueView’s ability to import CT Angiography (CTA) exams into the cath lab.
Philips displayed Volcano’s s5i intravascular ultrasound (IVUS) system, which is integrated to seamlessly provide detailed and accurate measurements of lumen and vessel size, plaque area and volume. These measurements allow physicians to make more informed decisions during PCI. Adding to its set of tools to enhance percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) technique, Philips’ latest version of StentBoost includes both lumen and stent views as well as Volcano’s integrated IVUS.
Plus, the new Xper table is optimized for hybrid procedures involving both interventionalists and cardiothoracic surgeons. This introduction also marks the production release of Philips CT TrueView. The system allows direct importation of CTA from Philips Extended Brilliance Workspace, into the Philips Xper cath lab.
