October 24, 2007 – St. Jude Medical took the stage at TCT 2007 to introduce its new hybrid carotid guiding sheath, Strada, which is built like a guide wire by blending sheath and catheter guide wire technology in order to reach tortuous vascular vessels.

Cordis Corp. introduced next generation carotid stent system, the PRECISE PRO RX Nitinol Self-Expanding Stent, designed to treat clogged neck arteries and enable more efficient manipulation of the catheter and guidewire during stenting procedures and better crossability.

October 24, 2007 – ev3 Inc. highlighted at TCT 2007 its merger with FoxHollow Technologies, Inc., which created an organization that possesses one of the largest U.S. distribution footprints in endovascular devices with combined technologies for the advancement of the treatment of peripheral and neurovascular disease.

October 23, 2007 - PLC Systems Inc. introduced at TCT 2007 the RenalGuard System, an investigational system and therapy that targets patients with compromised renal function who may be at risk for contrast-induced nephropathy, or CIN, when undergoing cardiovascular imaging procedures.

October 23, 2007 – After 12 months of the SPIRIT III trial, there were significantly fewer major adverse cardiac events (MACE) such as heart attacks, deaths from cardiac causes or repeat procedures (angioplasty or surgery) to clear the original vessel blockage after using a Xience V everolimus-eluting coronary stent than a Taxus paclitaxel-eluting stent, researchers reported at TCT 2007.

October 23, 2007 – Patients who received the CYPHER Sirolimus-eluting coronary stent had a lower risk of stent thrombosis and were less likely to need another procedure at the same lesion site (target lesion revascularization) than patients who received a Taxus stent, according to an analysis of 15-month data from the Western Denmark Heart Registry presented at TCT 2007.

October 23, 2007 - ENDEAVOR IV reached its primary endpoint of target vessel failure non-inferiority when compared to the Taxus stent, according to new 12-month data from Medtronic's ENDEAVOR IV (E-IV) trial presented at TCT 2007.
"It was very gratifying to learn that the Endeavor had similar efficacy compared to Taxus for all lesion subsets," said martin B. Leon, M.D., founder and chariman ermeritus of the Cardiovascular Research Foundation, professor of Medicine, Columbia University medical Center and principal investigator of the ENDEAVOR III and ENDEAVOR IV trials.

October 22, 2007 – At TCT 2007, ProSolv CardioVascular, a FUJIFILM company, (ProSolv) demonstrated its advanced quantification capabilities in a solution that integrates quantitative analysis software for cardiology and radiology with ProSolv’s industry-leading cardiovascular image and information system (CVIIS).

October 23, 2007 - Toshiba America Medical Systems Inc. today announced that the first U.S. installation of the Infinix CF-i/SP X-ray system was recently completed at Arlington Memorial Hospital, an acute-care full-service medical center, in Arlington, TX, reportedly allowing physicians a better ergonomic working environment for optimized patient care.
