February 24, 2021 — A study of admissions for acute myocardial infarction (AMI) and heart failure (HF) in the U.K. decreased by 41% and 34% respectively during the second wave of the COVID-19 panademic in the fall of 2020. The first wave in March 2020 saw a 54% decrease in admissions.[1]

February 24, 2021 — Occlutech announced the completion of patient enrollment in the PRELIEVE trial, pilot study to assess safety and efficacy of the novel Atrial Flow Regulator (AFR) in heart failure (HF) patients.

PRELIEVE is a prospective, multicenter, open-label, non-randomized pilot study that evaluates the results of AFR implantation in patients with either heart failure with preserved ejection fraction (HFpEF) or heart failure with reduced ejection fraction (HFrEF).

The overall trend in the cardiac output monitoring market is a movement toward noninvasive or minimally monitoring methods, according to Albany, N.Y., based Transparency Market Research. Here are several trends in the market they recently identified.
